Pregnancy Chiropractic in Gainesville

Pregnant woman holding bellyYou may be wondering if chiropractic is safe during pregnancy. It’s incredibly safe during every stage. Throughout your pregnancy, your body is going through many changes, and we’re here to help you navigate these changes smoothly.

When you visit KLS Chiropractic from the beginning of your pregnancy, Dr. Lisa will recommend you come in once a month if everything is going as planned. If you’re experiencing nausea or other persistent problems, we’ll address those issues as well. We’ll talk about diet and other alternative means to help focus on your unique needs.

During the last trimester, with the additional amount of weight you’re carrying, we’ll recommend visiting twice a month. For your final six weeks, we’ll recommend once a week so we can check how you and the baby are developing, how you’re carrying your baby, your pain or discomfort, etc.

Keeping You Comfortable

We have a table that we remove the middle section from so you can lie on your stomach comfortably. In some cases, we can use a hot pad for a few minutes to relax your muscles before your adjustment on this same table.

Dr. Lisa uses the Webster Technique, which employs a drop table. There are a lot of criteria that show her precisely how to adjust. She’s working on more than just adjusting the pelvis. She’s also releasing the piriformis muscle.

I’m working to release that round ligament, which allows the baby to sit properly and to allow the uterus to work optimally.

Benefits of Chiropractic During Pregnancy

Chiropractic helps with pain and discomfort in the lower back. It helps with the nerves going to the uterus and all the pelvic floor muscles. We want to make sure that everything is working to the best of its ability so you can experience a better pregnancy and an easier delivery.

Studies have shown that women under chiropractic care during their pregnancies have less low back pain and back labor. They also generally have an easier labor and a shorter labor time.

Chiropractic doesn’t treat a patient’s labor and delivery.

All I’m trying to do is make the pelvic floor muscles and the uterus work to the best of their ability.
